Vegetable Menu with spring flavors

Balcon del Zocalo presents novel combinations at your table every season, and this time we have chosen traditional ingredients so our vegan visitors can enjoy a menu created especially for them.
With great dedication, our Chef Pepe Salinas has prepared a nine-course tasting menu -so you experience something different- with the perfect pairing to intensify every flavor of this new seasonal suggestion.

When arriving, our team will welcome you with a tour around the kitchen. Then, Tomato Tartar and Watermelon Ceviche will be waiting for you at your table, so you can have a fruity taste for these warm summer afternoons.

You’ll be surprised by the second course: natural coconut that has been traditionally prepared as a sauce, with in-season vegetables.

Then, our Corn & Potato Tetela with Quelites will get to your table; this dish is followed by Avocado Rissotto with scent of fennel freshly cut from our orchard.

For honoring the tradition that characterizes our city, we present a special Green Mole Taco with Fig-leaf Gourd. And we close the salty courses with Mole Mazahua, a specialty of our Mayora, with Bean Tamale.

Of course, our Spring Vegetable Menu features delicious desserts. This time, we present three desserts specially prepared with fruits of the season: First, our Fruta Borracha, with a slightly liquor taste; next, a fresh dish with ginger and citrus essence. You can finish with our traditional Amalia Cake with Chocolate and Hazelnut.

A must for accompanying this menu is our Bread of Germinated Seeds –millet, wheat, poppy, quinoa, and lentils-, whose preparation requires more than five days.

At Balcon del Zocal, we always have a choice for our guests. Come and try this new Menu and let it surprise you.
